2030 FIFA World Cup Bidding Nations
The Indonesian bid follows the rejection by FIFA of a bid to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, after the Indonesian government failed to submit a letter to support the bid. With Indonesia unable to bid for the 2026 World Cup due to FIFA rules introduced in 2013 that prohibit the 2026 World Cup being held in either Europe or Asia, the country decided to focus attention on a bid for the 2030 FIFA World Cup instead. But as FIFA host selection policy is that any country may bid for a World Cup provided that their continental confederation has not hosted either of the past two World Cups, Indonesia would not be allowed to bid for 2030.
